*Dialogue taken from an email sent to Jill's Sunday School class.

Dear Class,

I realize you didn't ask for my opinion, I just had to share. In case you were not present – a lady named Sally Breedlove came to our class to show us a set of books that she and her husband used to read to their children while they were younger to teach them about the Bible. (I think that was a run on sentence – and I'm a homeschool mom – yikes!)

I believe it is a set of 8 books that total about 180 stories from the Bible. The books include pictures and other information you may not know, probably from theologians.

My first thought was, if we're teaching the Bible we need to read from the Bible – which is what our family did together. Normally though, Mason's eyes would glass over and Maria was pretty good at hanging in there even when some of it was over her head. I also realized early on how much Rich and I chose to skip because of all of the sexual immorality and talk about sex in the Bible which we didn't feel was appropriate yet for our children. We were also concerned about the books watering down what really happened in the Bible; for example, teaching things that weren't really true – like the apple being the forbidden fruit when we really don't know what the fruit was that Adam & Eve ate. (Maria said something the other day that was so far from the mark and I asked where she learned that and she said from on her Bible story books or Veggie Tales or something.)

However, we decided we would try one of the books. It is TRULY wonderful! Mason and Maria RUN to Bible time now at our home, talk about how much they love it, and it is very accurate to the Bible and even helps you understand how people truly could have felt during Bible times. (another run on) The pictures keep the children in tune, the extra info teaches Rich and I and it is just more enjoyable! Sally said, when I spoke to her about my concerns, that it really paved the way for her children to want to read the Bible when they were older!

Just wanted to share!

"It was so refreshing to talk to you and learn about this great Bible resource for families. I have really enjoyed reading it to my boys and being able to make it an interesting Bible lesson without much effort or any preparation. They love this time! We all really like the artwork and the questions posed in each chapter, as well as the many facts in the sidebars. These books are full of great information! I'm so glad we stopped at your booth!

Thank you for everything. I hope to see you at next year's conference and also purchase your reference booklets/brochures in the future."

"I just wanted to let you know that my kids certainly love the Family Bible Library and the curriculum. They look forward to our study time each day and always want to complete the activity pages. I am thankful for the knowledge and understanding not just of the Bible stories, but of that time in history. Truly, I am enjoying all of the information right along with them. I am refreshed daily through sharing God's Word with my children who are eager to hear it! When you get a chance, I would like to gain some information on being a distributor in our Wichita, KS area. This product is a treasure!"

"As for feedback on the curriculum... it's absolutely wonderful! It truly covers the expanse of meeting the needs of all ages in the family! I have two preschoolers and I love that there are activities they can do and questions they can answer that are on their level in the curriculum, and I can look ahead for later years and know that we will be able to do this year after year and learn new things each time! There are so many avenues of learning offered at all different age levels! This curriculum and the Family Bible Library was well worth the investment – my kids love it and I do too!"
